ASUS U35JC-A1 13.3-Inch Laptop - Silver

Great Thin & Light5

If you are in the hunt for a high quality thin & light laptop this is a great option. That being said there are lots on the market and it is important to be sure of what you want/need. If you don't need the power of dedicated graphics card you can save money... others in the same price range have bluetooth WiDi optical drives etc... but all of them have 'compromises' in other areas. If you are willing to carry something heavier or accept less battery life you can find something much cheaper as well. All that being said I wanted a GPU fast multi-core CPU good battery life... and didn't want to carry an optical drive (I have an external when I need it)... also wanted a well made machine that would travel well. Did lots of research and after trying the competition I decided the U35JC was the right machine... build quality is awesome... everything works great and I have been getting 8+ hrs from the battery surfing the web. GPU handled video editing and games very well. Overall this is exactly what I wanted and I am extremely happy with this laptop. Really only one 'con' which isn't a big deal to me but is worth mentioning. The vertical viewing angle on the monitor is very VERY narrow. Looks AWESOME if you have it adjusted right but if you lean the monitor too far forward or backward it quickly looks bad. No issue when using alone but could be a pain if you are using the monitor in a group (watching movies) or to display to a crowd. Haven't really compared to other laptops with the same size screen so don't know if that is a standard 'con'.More detail ...
